Planning to burn sparklers at your wedding? You better read this first.

Governor Perry declared a State of Emergency for all 244 counties in Texas. How will this effect your wedding?

Because of the severe drought, the potential for wild fires is extremely high. The State of Emergency declaration includes language which bans the sale and use of ALL fireworks until further notice. SPARKLERS ARE CONSIDERED FIREWORKS!! If you elect to burn them at your wedding reception you can be fined $500 and charged with a Class C Misdemeanor. ...and if you were to actually start a fire, the consequences would be even more severe. Put simply, it's just not worth the risk. Use bubbles or long ribbons for your send-off.
